What is Java and what do I need it for?

Java is a programming language such as C++, Visual Basic, Delphi or Turobo Pascal. Some of our software tools are developed in Java and in order to get a Java based software running, the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) is required . This is available for free from Sun ( the "inventor" of Java).

Just visit www.java.com, click on "Free Java Download" and follow the instructions.
